Two Chaps (very limited stock)

Evan Parker, Motoharu Yoshizawa

Medium: LP

Availability: Out of stock

Two chaps, both of them great – legendary British improviser Evan Parker on tenor and soprano saxophone, working nicely alongside Yoshizawa Motoharu on bass! Although Parker was a player who first made waves early on the British free jazz scene, his work during this 90s stretch may well be some of his greatest – very mature in his approach to both timing and tone – filled with knowledge of countless years of musical experiments, yet always able to give them the right sort of direction and focus, too. Motoharu really seems to match that energy with his work on bass – often using the instrument in this raspy, resonant way that carries a great deal of each power with every fresh expression of sound – although he also steps aside at one point to allow Parker a solo soprano saxophone performance too!
